TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bulungan Art Lovers Community is going to hold 'Jabodetabeka Short Film Festival' at the Bulungan Youth Center, South Jakarta starting from March 24 to March 29. The event is said to be held in response to the high interest of young film-makers and the thriving film-making community around Greater Jakarta area.

"This is going to be the third festival and is open for submission starting from early of February until March 5," said the Public Relation Officer of Jabodetabeka Short Film Festival, Irul Luthan.

This year, there are four categories in the competition, including Ali Sadikin Award for the Best Short Film. The award is dedicated to the late Ali Sadikin, the former Governor of Jakarta who cared a lot about art and culture activities. Ali Sadikin also consistently appreciated cultural art by building several youth and art centers such as Taman Ismail Marzuki.

The other award is H. Misbach Yusa Biran Award which will be given to the Best Screenplay. H. Misbach Yusa Biran was the best Indonesian script writer and is one of the best figures of Indonesia film industry.

There are also South Jakarta Youth Center (GRJS) Award and Street Musician Group (KPJ) Award for the winner of the best film poster and the best clip video, respectively. In addition to film screening, there will be other festivities such as film poster exhibition, discussion, and workshop that involve communities under the Bulungan Youth Center.
