TEMPO.CO, Medan - Four people have been dead due the hot clouds from the eruption of Mount Sinabung earlier today. The bodies of the four victims were found in Sukameriah village, Payung sub-district.
Tony Sembiring, Payung sub-district head, conformed that at least four bodies have been found in Sukameriah village, Payung sub-district.
"We have evacuated four bodies to Kabanjahe regional hospital. We are now collecting the data of the victims’ names,” he told Tempo.
As previously reported, Mount Sinabung at around 10.30 a.m sent hot ashes into the air at around, triggering a rain of hot ash in several villages in Simpang Empat sub-districts.
The rain of hot ash was categorized as severe as it affected visibility around the slope of Mount Sinabung.
In the morning before eruption, people in Sukameriah Village, along with university students who were said to be volunteers for the refugees, were in the village to see the condition of the village after the September eruption.
"The bodies are now in the hospital for autopsy. We are going to reveal the identities later on. I am now at Sukameriah village, where the bodies were found," Sembiring said.
