TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Facebook Sheryl Sandberg, is currently the youngest woman with billion dollar assets. Following the rise of Facebook Inc's share prices, reaching US$ 58.51 on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, Sandberg’s assets increased over US$ 1 billion.
The COO of the company who runs the most popular social media network in the world owns 12.3 million shares of the company based in Menlo Park, California. According to Bloomberg's Millionaire Index, the 44-year-old director is the youngest woman to own assets worth billions of dollars.
"Is she really doing the job that is worth billions of dollars? I don't know," said David Kirkpatrick, writer of "The Facebook Effect" book which tells the story of the company. "She is very lucky to be 'stranded' in the right company."
Sandberg's assets continue to grow as her role in the global world keeps growing. The former Head of Staff for the US Secretary of Treasury Lawrence Summer is one of the sponsors of President Barack Obama. She was recruited from Google in 2008, and became third most successful women in the world right after Finance Director of Oracle Inc. Safra A. Catz and Operations Director of Capital Management Inc. Wellington J. Denahan-Norris.
"She joined Google, moved to Facebook, wrote a book, now she may even enter the political world and succeed," said Kirkpatrick.
