TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Transportation Agency is set to open the concrete barricades at the intersection of Kembangan Raya Road –Puri Lingkar Dalam Road, West Jakarta, which were placed since half a year ago.
"It will be opened on Monday," said Transportation Agency Chief, Udar Pristono, when contacted yesterday. "The barricades have become the source of traffic jams around the area's roads."
Besides clearing the barricades, the agency will modify the traffics in Puri Kembangan, especially around the West Jakarta Mayor's office. Afterward, several turning points under the Jakarta Outer Ring Toll Road W1 in Kembangan would be closed.
According to Tempo’s observation, the barricades on Kembangan Raya road have caused drivers toward Daan Mogot or Ciledug to drive through Puri Lingkar Luar road. As a result, there is an accumulation of vehicles especially outside the exit toll road of Jakarta – Tangerang. Many motorcycle riders recklessly break though the road barricades, which worsen the traffic jams.
