TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Outer Ring Road West 2 (JORR W2) has been tested for public today. "The trial test will start at 6 am and it will be for free," said head of the Meruya-Ciledug toll gate, Anas Emil Jaya, at his office, yesterday afternoon.
The 5.73-kilometer toll road was inaugurated by the Public Works Minister Djoko Kirmanto yesterday. The toll road will pass through Ulujami, South Jakarta. However, since there is still land-clearing issue, the Ciledug- Ulujami section is yet to be complete and currently unprepared for operation.
Since it will be free, not all types of vehicles can enter the toll road. "It is still limited to one type of car only, or sedans, jeeps and minibuses," he said. Meanwhile, big buses and trucks are not yet permitted since the toll management will still be monitoring traffic density at the new toll’s exit.
PT Marga Lingkar Jakarta, a joint organization between PT Jasa Marga and PT Jakarta Propertindo that manage the toll road will conduct the test for the next three days. "Its full operation will commence on January 1," he said.
