Hatta Rajasa Calls for Quality Standard Improvement

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa stated Indonesian products need to improve its quality standard in the midst of integrated global economy in his speech when opening Quality Expo 2013. He said the free trade is so close that Indonesia needs to respond, not only as a market but also as production basis.
"The key of this competition is to improve the quality standard, based on competitiveness and prosperity," said the Minister. Hatta said both quality and competitiveness in the context of globalization is important for a nation in order to breach global market.
Meanwhile, the Chief of National Standardization Agency Bambang Prasetya stated that nations around the world are campaigning standards as the effect of globalization that has affected goods supply around the globe.
Indonesia is a nation with abundant resources and manpower. Therefore, it must take decent position to face globalization, said Bambang.
