TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Member of House of Representatives' (DPR) Law Commission, Aboe Bakar, requested clear mechanism to anticipate the attacks on police officers that have repeatedly caused deaths. "There is a need for intelligence in anticipating these attacks," said Aboe today, September 11, 2013.
Aboe explained that police intelligence's role must be doubled, starting from detecting potential attack, to tracking down the criminals. Doubling the role of police intelligence is possible since they have been successful in discovering terrorist network.
The House, Aboe added, wanted to discuss the shooting with the police in the Parliament meeting yesterday. But the Indonesian National Police Chief Timur Pradopo and Criminal Detective Chief Commission General Sutarman were not present. "The meeting has to be rescheduled," said Aboe.
