TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Budi Susanto, the Director of PT Citra Mandiri Metalindo Abadi, was charged with corruption of Rp88.4 million in the Traffic Corps National Police Headquarters' driving simulator project in 2011. The Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) prosecutor, Riyono, said that Budi, together with General Inspector Djoko Susilo, former Head of the Traffic Corps, and Sukotjo S. Bambang, the Director of PT Inovasi Teknologi Indonesia, along with several National Police Headquarters' officials, were allegedly involved in the project's budget markup worth of Rp196 million.
"Budi Susanto had deliberately gather profits for himself and others who were cooperating with him, and it caused a state loss of Rp144.9 million, or around Rp121.8 million," said Riyono in his charges against Budi in the Corruption Trial yesterday, Tuesday, September 10, 2013.
According to the KPK prosecutor, Budi used three ways to marked up the driving simulator project's budget. First, simulator machine's intact components were tagged as separated components, so he could double the pricing and gain profits. Second, unused components were still tagged as usable components, so he could exploit them. And the third, after the simulator machines were built, he doubled up the prices.
