TEMPO.CO, Kupang - National runners dominate 10-kilometer (10K) running competition which is held in Kalabahi, Alor Regency, Eastern Nusa Tenggara (NTT) today. Some former national runners took part on the race, such as Adriana Waru, Apriana Paijo, and Oliva Sadi.
The national running competitions was held by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) to cheer up the 2013 Sail Komodo event and was divided into two main categories: public and student category. More than 1,000 participants from all over Indonesia competed for the total prize of Rp90 million cash.
Adriana Waru was the first to reach the finish line with 38.14 minutes recorded time in the public women category. Apriana Paijo and Oliva Sadi each secured the second and third positions.
"Adriana Waru is eligible for the Rp7.5 million cash prize," said the Head of Sport Unit of the Youth and Sport Education Agency in NTT, Ary Mulyadi.
"This national event will be a routine agenda for PB PASI and will be developed to an international event," said Ary.
