TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Islamic Defender Front (FPI) was said to be responsible for the death of a resident in a clash between the group and local residents in Kendal. A resident was killed when an FPI car hit him in Sukorejo.
"We will apologize. We will set donation, We will visit the family. That is our standard," said Habib Muchsin, FPI spokesman.
However, the group is yet to ensure who will attend the victim's funeral. Muchsin mentioned that a member of Central Java FPI will come to deliver the condolences.
Previously, a clash occurred when a car, driven by FPI members, hit a man in Sukorejo Kendal. Ellen Cornelis, an eyewitness and the Head of Kendal Ansor Youth Group, testified that FPI members in the car had been involved in an argument with people in Sukorejo City Field.
