Several famous writers will come to the festival, such as Djoko Damono, Joko Pinurbo, Dewi Lestari, Peter Zilahy, among others. Travel writers like Agustinus Wibowo will also attend the festival, discussing about the relationship between poem and photography.
Tonight's festival opening will show a 15-minute documentary film about a Southern Sulawesi poet, AM Gg Myala alias A.M. Thahir. The film was produced by Yandy Lauren, and starts with the findings of a thorough research performed by Arfan Sabran (Aslam) and Krishna Pabichara.
Lily Farid, Committee Head of the event, hopes that MIWF 2013 will promote writers community, particularly in the eastern part of Indonesia.
