TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A novel written by one of Indonesia's classic author the late Marah Roesli is to be published soon. It is entitled "Memang Jodoh" (we are meant to be) and is based on the author's true story.  "This is a semi-autobiography novel, not a complete biography of my grandfather," said Rully Roesli, his grandson, to Tempo on Tuesday, June 8, 2013.

The novel was expected to be launched on Saturday, June 8, 2012 but apparently it had to be postponed, while waiting for Rully to return from abroad on June 20. "If possible, it will be published by the end of June or before the fasting month," he explained.

The novel Memang Jodoh was finished in 1961. It was a gift from Marah for his wife, Raden Ratna Kancana on their 50th wedding anniversary.

Marah Roesli, who also wrote Siti Nurbaya and La Hami novels, told his family to publish the novel 50 years later. "We (the family) talked about it and we agree to contribute our family's legacy for Indonesian literature." stated Rully.
