Banking Credits in Central Java Grows

TEMPO.CO, Semarang – The growth of banking credit in Central Java in the first trimester of 2013 has reached 22.7 percent. The condition is well maintained and relatively stable compared to the previous trimester. On the other hand, non-performing loan (NPL) is recorded at a relatively low rate of 2.4 precent.
"[The figures] were based on the distribution of loans in the first trimester of 2013 with a Rp 4 trillion (US$408,5 million) expansion," said Bank Indonesia Region V Semarang Representatives Office spokesman Arya Jodilistyo on Wednesday, June 5.
The expansion of banking credit is higher compared to the Rp 3,1 trillion (US$316,59) recorded in the same period in 2012. Arya claimed that Central Java's capital loans have grown quite significantly by 20.9 percent and are relatively stable compared to the previous trimester.
