Citilink to Recal Seven Boeing 737

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Citilink Indonesia CEO M. Arif Wibowo said that the company must be more efficient in facing competition in the low-cost carrier industry. One of the efforts is by replacing old low-capacity aircraft which has high operational costs.
The airline is planning on replacing it's old Boeing 737s with the Airbus 320. "Citilink wants to immediately terminate the operations of high-operational cost aircraft," said Arif during the Citilink Airbus 320 promotional flight in Denpasar on May 27.
Therefore, Arif said, his company will terminate the operations of the existing Boeing 737, seven of them. By the end of this year, Citilink will have 24 Airbus 320s. "Citilink now has 22 Airbus 320s and will add two more," the CEO added.
