TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Andreas Katrawinata, Chairman of Indonesian Shopping Center Asscociation, said that this years' Jakarta Great Sale revenue is expected to increase by 20 percent. "This year, the targeted turnover is Rp 12 trillion," he told Tempo on Sunday.
Andreas also said that there are now a lot of local brands that are able to compete with foreign brands. "Sometimes I cannot differentiate local brands and foreign brands as they have the same level of quality," he added.
He further explained that consumers prefer products like food, beverages and fashion. "Food and beverages and also fashion products have long dominated the Jakarta Great Sale, and it will stay that way this year."
Jakarta Great Sale Festival will be held from June 1 to July 14 2013. This festival is expected to attract domestic as well as foreign tourists, particularly from Asia and the Middle East. This event targeted discounts up to 70 percent for all products. 74 shopping centers and other partners are already listed in the upcoming Jakarta Great Sale.
