Papua Police Establish Investigation Team in Freeport Incident

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Papua police have established an investigation team to investigate the Big Gossan collapse at Freeport Indonesia's training facilities in Tembagapura District, Mimika, in Papua.
The National Police spokesman Brig. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar said that the police are working together with some mining experts from universities in the investigation to obtain expert judgment concerning the incident.
"We're working together with several experts from universities who contributed their accounts through testimonies," said Boy at his office on Monday, May 27.
Boy added that the police are also cooperating with a team from the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry. Furthermore, the spokesman said, Freeport has also taken part in the investigation process.
