TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - The Tangerang District Administration lacks tens of thousands of employees such as teachers, medical personnel, and technical staff. The lack of employees is due to the small quota received during the acceptance of civil servants and the high amount of employees who are scheduled to retire this year.
Chief of the Tangerang District Employment Board, Yani Sutisna, stated that based on the current condition, Tangerang still lacks 8,042 teachers, 936 medical personnel, and 1,269 technical employees.
The minister’s regulation about the amount of civil servants required for each region for the next five years states that Tangerang needs 10,115 elementary school teachers. However, the district still lacks 5,453 teachers. Meanwhile, the district also needs 1,245 junior high school teachers, 532 high school teachers, and 812 vocational high school teachers.
"But the quota only allocated a total of 500 teachers," stated Mochamad Ilyas, head of the Employee Development unit at the Tangerang District Employment Board.
