TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ciletuh National Geopark in Palabuhanratu-Sukabumi, West Java, wins the most popular new tourist destination in the Anugerah Pesona Indonesia (API) tourism awards of Tourism Ministry.
“Alhamdulillah, Ciletuh Geopark, Palabuhanratu, which is recently named as global geopark by UNESCO wins the third place in the API award as the most popular new tourist destination,” said Sukabumi Regent Marwan Hamami in Sukabumi, Saturday, November 24.
According to Marwan, the award given by Tourism Ministry was an honor and as a motivation to further develop the tourism sites in Sukabumi; be it the facilities and infrastructure as well as promotions.
There are 18 values set by the committee of the award event. Ciletuh Geopark ranked the third in the most popular new tourist site based on the result of 7.2 million links and 4.28 million news links.
Marwan hoped the award would attract more tourist arrivals in the area. “We will prepare advanced infrastructure in 2019 which will affect new entrepreneurs and the public.”
The regent also planned to improve tourism issues as recommended by UNESCO. However, the improvement required support from the public, for example, by glorifying the earth by maintaining the environment to remain beautiful and clean.
The Anugerah Pesona Indonesia (API) is an award event for tourist destinations across the country which is held annually and supported by Tourism Ministry.
