TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lippo Malls spokesperson Nidia N. Ichsan said they cannot make an estimate of how much losses the company suffered from last night`s fire at Mall Pejaten Village in South Jakarta. The management plans to make the calculation soon, taking into account tenants` losses.

"We cannot calculate the damages yet. We are now focusing on repairing the electrical panel that caught fire,” she said here on Wednesday, November 14.

"Tenants can file a report to us about damages. So far we haven’t received any report yet,” she added.

Nidia said the fire only occurred in the panel room on the ground floor of Pejaten Village, and did not spread to other areas of the building. However, she said that smoke covered all parts of the building.

On Tuesday night, November 13, fire broke at Pejaten Village shopping area. Ten units of firefighter trucks were dispatched to the area to put out the fire, which is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit.

"Everything is under control now. The mall is open as usual,” Nidia said.
