Nestle Indonesia Comments on Viral Video of Fake Milo Production

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Nestle Indonesia commented the viral video of fake production of chocolate and malt powder Milo. In an official press release, Nestle Indonesia confirmed the video.
“The circulating video is first reported in 2015, the findings of Malaysia officials regarding the fake package and Milo powder,” as quoted from the press release of Nestle Indonesia that Tempo received on Wednesday, November 7.
Earlier, a thirty-second video went viral on social media showing production of fake Milo. Several workers were seen pouring chocolate powder to fake Milo packaging.
Based on information gathered from many sources, the video was posted by a Facebook account named Azian Nor, known to be Malaysian national from Terengganu.
Nestle Indonesia explained the case had been handled by Malaysian authority and the government was said to have taken acts with regard to the counterfeit version of Milo.
Milo products, as noted in the release, were produced locally in the manufacturer located in Karawang, West Java. Nestle Indonesia assured consumers that Nestlé was committed to providing the best quality products.
“The safety and quality of our products are non-negotiable priorities for the company,” Nestle Indonesia underlined.
All products of Nestle Indonesia have the halal logo from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and distribution permit from the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) as well as expiry date and production code on the package.
