TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The General Election Commission (KPU) noted several issues to be discussed at the 2019 presidential and vice presidential election debate. KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan said the topic would relate to main highlights in the country.
“Of course, all main issues will be the theme of the election debate,” said Wahyu in the KPU office, Jakarta, Tuesday, Oct 30.
Wahyu mentioned there are at least six main topics for the discourse, namely politics, social, economy, culture, security defense, and state ideology. “Those issues are indeed the national problems,” he added.
According to Wahyu, the KPU possibly has other issues for the debate such as corruption, environment, and human trafficking. “So, all issues will not be passed for the election contest,” he noted.
The KPU would organize five sessions of presidential and vice presidential debate with different themes. The debate would use the Indonesian language.
As of date, KPU has yet determined the schedule and location of the debate, and so it opens for recommendations from any party in regards to the matter.
