TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Three investigators of the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) visited Ratna Sarumpaet in General Crime Directorate Unit of Jakarta Metro Police today, Oct 24. The team requested an investigation to the latter in light of her hoax news about being assaulted.

The three officers donned a long-sleeve white shirt and blue jacket embedded the agency's name. They remained tight-lipped when asked about their presence in the police headquarter. “[We will tell you] later,” said one of Bawaslu staffs to reporters before entering the police room.

Bawaslu had earlier scheduled the examination on Ratna following the report filed by supporters of Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin camp named Garda Nasional Indonesia and Pro-Jokowi volunteers related to the alleged violation of peace and anti-hoax campaign.

Garda Nasional Indonesia and Pro-Jokowi volunteers suspected Prabowo Subianto of participating in spreading the hoax news created by Ratna. They deemed the presidential candidate number 02 conducted black campaign by broadcasting the news which then sparked public uproar.

Therefore, Bawaslu needed to obtain direct clarification from Ratna Sarumpaet.
