7 Temples Management in Sleman Submitted to Regency Admin

TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - Ministry of Education and Culture handed over the management of seven temples in Sleman to the local regency administration, Tuesday, October 23.
The Director-General of Culture Wilmar Farid handed over the handling to Sleman Regent Sri Purnomo. “This (agreement) is needed as a legal basis and is a breakthrough in managing the temple,” said Hilmar at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Yogyakarta, Tuesday, October 23.
The management submitted was for Kedulan Temple, Sambisari Temple, Banyunibo Temple, Kalasan Temple, Sari Temple, Ijo Temple, and Gebang Temple.
Head of Sleman tourism office Sudarningsih revealed that this district could indeed be called a thousand temples district. The management also collaborated with the Cultural Heritage Conservation Center (BPCB). “We will develop the general facilities,” he said.
“Through this trust, it is expected to have a positive impact on tourism in Sleman Regency,” said Sri Purnomo.
