TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Provincial Government has deployed 16 trucks with a capacity of 12 ton to lift the pile of garbages in the temporary waste disposal site (TPSS) at Jalan Muara Baru, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Monday, Oct 22.
The waste volume increased since three days ago. The North Jakarta Environment Agency official Eriek Kurnianto said the government had added the trash trucks since Sunday, Oct 21.
“A total of 16 trucks with a capacity of 12 ton are prepared today to lift the garbage in TPS Muara Baru; 15 trucks owned by Jakarta administration and 1 from us,” said Eriek in TPS Muara Baru. He added 7-8 trucks would operate in the site starting Monday, Oct 22.
Eriek denied the accusation that the garbage pile increased since Friday because of the blocking of 50 trash trucks owned by the city administration in Bantargebang Integrated Waste Management Facility (TPST), Bekasi.
According to Eriek, the hike of garbage pile in Muara Baru TPSS was due to lack of trucks operation since four trucks were being repaired. “It is not because of the case in Bekasi. Four trucks are under service, and it needs 3-4 days.”
