AISI Reports Indonesian Motorcycle Exports Up 41 Percent

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) recorded the country’s completely built up motorcycle export skyrocketed with a 41.8 percent growth from January to September 2018.
AISI Chairman Johannes Loman said that the country’s export from January – September of this year went up to 438,530 units, an increase of 129,205 units compared to the same period last year. The association predicts it will reach 530,000 exports by the end of 2018.
“The motorcycle industry holds a significant role, not only does it fulfill domestic needs, but also exports,” said Johannes in Jakarta. He further deemed that Indonesian produced motorcycles are able to compete in the export market.
Their data recorded that almost every manufacturer experiencing a positive export performance in the past nine months with Honda growing 45.3 percent, Yamaha 33.7 percent, Suzuki 82.1 percent, Kawasaki with a staggering 325.2 percent growth, and TVS with 28.4 percent.
