Concept and Performers of 2018 Asian Para Games Opening Ceremony

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Asian Para Games Organizing Committee (INAPGOC) pledged to present a spectacular show in the opening of 2018 Asian Para Games, which was slated to take place in Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, on Saturday, October 6.
“This is the largest collaboration show involving people with disability and non-disability, and the result is amazing,” said INAPGOC head Raja Sapta Oktohari in a press conference, Thursday, October 4.
INAPGOC collaborated with Italian-based event organizer Balich Worldwide Show (BWS) to organize the opening ceremony, and synergized with Jay Subiakto as associate creative director and set designer, Andi Rianto as music director, and Chitra Subyakto as costume designer.

In the same occasion, Jay Subiakto explained the opening ceremony would feature the wonderful of Indonesia. The curve large stage resembling equator line with traditional elements and motives in its structure and architecture was prepared to show the greatness of the country’s Para Games athletes.
As for the music, Andy Rianto said, he would combine orchestra and traditional music of Indonesia. Musician to be presented, among others, are Magenta Orchestra, Armand Maulana, Once Mekel, Vidi Aldiano, Maudy Ayunda, Sheryl Sheinafia, Lesti, Ariani Nisma Putri, Shanna Shannon, and Regina Poetiray.
Aside from those, Chitra Subyakto prepared 1,304 costumes and 514 hats or headdress, which were all Indonesian costumes and accessories. “We will display all about Indonesia, including its beautiful traditional costumes,” Chitra explained.
INAPGOC brings the theme of 'We Are One' for the opening ceremony of the 2018 Asian Para Games that means the story of diverse nations celebrating sports games.
