TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of Indonesia Asian Para Games 2018 Organizing Committee (Inapgoc) Raja Sapta Oktohari said the 2018 Asian Para Games opening ceremony would carry the theme of the ocean.
“Indonesia consists of mountains and seas, and is rich in culture,” Okto said at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, Thursday night, September 27.
At the 2018 Asian Para Games opening, Okto stated that the audience would be entertained by various performances which, among others, would be presented by the people with disabilities. “We want to show that Indonesia is a country that is friendly to people with disabilities,” he said.

During the practice for the opening, there was a large screen formed like the ocean tide displaying various types of videos. There were also Komodo dragons, typical Indonesian animals and phinisi boats paraded by dozens of participants.
The total number of performers reached around 1,500 people in the two hours and 20 minutes duration of the 2018 Asian Para Games opening. Okto claimed the preparation of the event to be held on October 6, had reached 50 percent.
“We hope that the audience will get new knowledge,” he said.
