Garuda to Prepare 10 Extra Flights for IMF-WB Annual Meetings

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Garuda Indonesia plans to prepare 10 extra flights for the International Monetary Fund (IMF)-World Bank Group Annual Meetings 2018, which to be held in Bali on October 12-14.
"To ensure the success of the world`s largest economic forum, Garuda Indonesia will prepare 10 extra flights to Bali and reroute flights from other cities to Bali," Garuda Indonesia Commercial Director Pikri Ilham Kurniansyah said in a written statement released on Monday.

The event`s organizing committee has chosen the national flag carrier as an appointed airline to fly delegates from all over the world to Bali, he said.
The event is expected to bring together some 21 thousand delegates from 189 countries.
The extra flights will be made available to the Singapore-Denpasar flight route from Oct. 6 to 11 and from Oct. 15 to 18 using a Boeing 737-800 plane with a capacity of 162 seats.

Garuda Indonesia will also reroute Bangkok-Jakarta flight and Kuala lumpur-Jakarta flight to become Bangkok-Denpasar-Jakarta flight and Kuala Lumpur-Denpasar-Jakarta flight from Oct. 6 to 11 and from Oct. 15 to 18.
"The selection (of Garuda Indonesia) as an appointed airline for the IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings is one of the momentums to increase Garuda Indonesia`s exposure as a global airline. In addition, it also serves as a means to showcase the excellence of five-star services of Garuda Indonesia as national flag carrier which implements the hospitality and cultural diversity of Indonesia," he said.
