TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A mountain fire occurred again on the island of Java, on the slopes of Mount Slamet in the north area of Pemalang Regency, Central Java.
The 0711/Pemalang Military District Command (Kodim) Territorial Section Officer Captain Sarmin said that the mountain fire was first known on Tuesday, September 18, at around 10:00 a.m.
“Furthermore, the forest fire fighting team from Pulosari led by Pak Cipto gathered and climbed the Mount Slamet at 7:00 p.m.,” he said.
The fire, according to Sarmin, occurred in Plots 44 of the pine forest area belonging to Perhutani Forest Management Unit (KPH) of West Pekalongan.
“The firefighting involved a number of volunteers, including members of the Babinsa (Village Supervisor Officer) Kodim 0711/Pemalang,” said Sarmin.
