Ombudsman: Setya Novanto`s Jail in Sukamiskin is Spacious

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ombudsman Indonesia found an indication of a difference in the facility at Sukamiskin Prison in Bandung, one of which was Setya Novanto`s cell that is more spacious than other inmates`.
“Pak Setya Novanto’s room is wider and better, twice as wide as others`,” said the head of the Ombudsman Indonesia, Ninik Rahayu, Friday, September 14.
Ombudsman still found an indication of maladministration in Sukamiskin Penitentiary.

A different standard was found in one block consisting of two floors. The cells on the lower floor are smaller than the rooms on the upper level. Setya Novanto’s jail room is on the upper floor.
The former House speaker's jail is different from the room exposed on a television program, Mata Najwa, which showed a smaller room than the current one.
Except for the size, Ombudsman did not find any other special facilities such as television, air conditioning, or other prohibited items in Setya Novanto`s Sukamiskin cell.
