TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) would assure the presence of Rumah Indonesia (House of Indonesia or HoI) in Tokyo, Japan during the 2020 Olympics, said KOI deputy head Mudai Maddang.
House of Indonesia, Mudai mentioned, has positively contributed to the establishment of 2018 Asian Games co-hosted in Jakarta and Palembang.
“House of Indonesia has tightened the relationship between Asian Games athletes and Indonesian people thus far, judging from the place that is always packed by visitors. Thus, we keep striving to present HoI in Tokyo, Japan during the 2020 Olympic. We already have the agreement, but we haven’t decided the space,” said Mudai on Friday, August 31.

According to Mudai, HoI in Tokyo was expected to connect Indonesian people in Japan with the athletes participating in the games.
“Moreover, there are a lot of Indonesians in Japan. They can visit HoI should they want to taste Indonesian culinary or merely meet the athletes. And of course, it will be free of charge, all free,” said Mudai who is also INASGOC head for Palembang city.
House of Indonesia is opened at Epicentrum, Kuningan until the end of 2018 Asian Para Games. The athletes who win gold medals in the games were brought to HoI to make them closer to the public.
Other than sports facility, House of Indonesia presents various typical foods of the country, Asian Games souvenirs as well as music performances and others.
