TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi departed to Yogyakarta to attend the opening of the 9th national congress of Indonesian Hindu students Mahasabha joined in the Indonesian Hindu Dharma Student Union (KMHDI).

President Jokowi arrived at the Adisutjipto Air Force Base, Yogyakarta, at 10:35 am local time. “President was welcomed by Yogyakarta Governor, Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X,” said the Deputy for Protocols, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Bey Machmudin, Wednesday, August 29.

Mahasabha takes place from August 29 to September 3.

The Mahasabha Congregation will be held at the Yogyakarta Hajj Dormitory on August 30 to September 2, followed by the KMHDI 25th Anniversary Celebration at Kepatihan Ward Yogyakarta, and will be ended with Religious Tourism/Tirtayatra on September 3.

Before attending the opening of Mahasabha, President will review the village fund program in the form of an irrigation channel located in Klontongan Dam, Sleman.

Jokowi is accompanied by the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education M Nasir, Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, Military Secretary President Marsda Trisno Hendradi, and Presidential Guard Commander Maj. Gen. (Mar) Suhartono.
