
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested Sukamiskin Prison head Wahid Husen during a series of sting operations.
“Six persons, including prison head and private individuals, are taken to KPK,” said KPK deputy chief Laode Muhammad Syarif today, July 21.
Laode said he could not give further details of the case involving the prison head. However, he added, KPK confiscated money in cash and foreign exchange as well as one car as the evidence. According to Laode, KPK has 24 hours to determine the legal status of the arrested people.
Sukamiskin penitentiary was a special prison for corruption convicts namely Setya Novanto in e-KTP case; Anas Urbaningrum in Hambalang Sports Center case; and M. Zaruddin in athlete dorm case.
The convict of Bakamla graft case Fahmi Darmawansyah, who was charged with 2 years and eight months imprisonment, was also in Sukamiskin Prison. The case recently dragged the House member from Golkar faction Fayakhun Andriadi.
The Justice and Human Rights Ministry's inspector general Aidir Amin Daud also confirmed the news on a sting operation conducted by KPK in Sukamiskin Prison. “We appreciate legal proceedings done by KPK and surely we will help all necessary process so as to complete this issue,” said Aidir.
