TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) appreciated the decision made by national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia's pilot association and employee union to abort its planned strike.
The Deputy for Financial Services, Surveying Services and Consultation Services of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), Gatot Trihargo, said the decision to cancel the strike was made in a meeting organized by the Garuda Pilot Association (APG), Garuda Employees Union (Sekarga), PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk management, and SOEs Minister Rini Soemarno.

“We appreciate the good steps of all parties who are still committed to national interests, and all parties agreed to be more synergic in improving the company's performance,” said Gatot on Friday, July 6.
Results of the meeting were that the management of Garuda Indonesia, in tandem with Sekarga and APG, agreed to commit to maintaining and improving the performance of the company.
Gatot said Sekarga and APG had agreed to safeguard the continued flight operations of Garuda Indonesia, including supporting its national programs, such as the Hajj pilgrimage this year.
