Former Indonesia`s Parliament Speaker and convicted graft suspect Setya Novanto.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will soon execute the 15-year prison sentence against Setya Novanto.

"It is either on Thursday or Friday," said Setya Novanto’s lawyer Firman Wijaya in KPK building, Jakarta, Wednesday, May 2, 2018.

Firman said his client is possible to serve a 15 years sentence in Sukamiskin Prison, Bandung, West Java.

The execution of the verdict was immediately made after Setya decided not to submit an appeal. Previously, KPK also decided not to file an appeal the defendant's verdict.

The panel of Judges at Jakarta corruption court declared that Setya Novanto is guilty in the e-KTP graft case. Setya is sentenced to 15 years in prison and fined Rp500 million with a subsidiary of three-month in prison.

In addition, the Judge required Setya Novanto to pay US$7.3 million in compensation minus Rp5 billion as it had been paid. The former DPR speaker is also stripped off of his political rights for five years after serving his sentence.

As of press time, Tempo has not received information from the KPK related to the execution of Setya Novanto to the Sukamiskin Correctional Institution in Bandung.
