TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Indonesia (BI) is developing an application that can be downloaded from a smartphone to detect counterfeit money.
Head of Planning and Development Division of the Department of Money Management at Bank Indonesia Hernowo Kuntoaji, said that the application will be completed this year.
"Our target is the application can be completed this year so that people can know the characteristics of real money and not be fooled by counterfeit money again," Hernowo said on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.
Hernowo said that BI has also enhanced the security features of real money, such as applying the rainbow printing and two-colored phosphor inks to make it difficult for people to create and distribute counterfeit money.
