TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Low-cost carrier Citilink Indonesia plans to introduce international flights to Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia (Penang), Singapore, and Thailand (Bangkok).
“The additional flight routes can improve airplane utilization. This can increase revenue and compensate the climbing operational costs,” said Citilink Indonesia President Director Juliandra Nurtjahjo on Wednesday, March 7.
Juliandra said that the Jakarta-Penang flight route will be available once a day, while the Jakarta-Singapore flight will serve airplane passengers twice each day since it has a higher number of potential passengers.

The Jakarta-Penang flight will open in March 2018 and the flight to Singapore and Bangkok will open in April and mid-year respectively. “We already have flights to China and Jeddah for chartered flights,” Juliandra explained.
As for domestic flights, Citilink Indonesia has already introduced the Jakarta-Banyuwangi flight and increased its flight frequency to Solo, Palangkaraya, and Banjarmasin, that coincides with the airliner’s airplane utilization goal of over 9 hours per day.
