According to BNN Director of psychotropic Brig. Gen. Anjan Pramuka, the arrest was made based on information they received last month. “PDRM informed us that there would be a drug deal taking place from Malaysia to Aceh,” said Anjan on Tuesday, February 27.
Authorities moved in to make an arrest at two separate locations on Sunday, February 25, after conducting surveillance for almost a month. “The first was conducted at the front yard of Hotel Antara in Medan and the second was conducted at Taman Impian Indah Amal Luhur D2 housing in Medan,” Anjan explained.

During a bust at the Aceh-North Sumatra border by BNN field officers, one suspect identified as Amrizal was shot after he attempted to make an escape.
