TEMPO.CO, Surabaya - The municipal government of Surabaya is optimizing its Command Center 112 at the Siola Building to help officers secure the celebrations of Christmas and New Year. Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini said that the Command Center 112 has officers from all institutions, including the police force, to monitor The East Java capital.
"If you face an urgent situation, do not panic. Dial 112 immediately. I think 112 will be very helpful because there are plenty of officers working there," she said on Christmas Day.

Since Christmas Eve, the Command Center 112 has not received any significant report. Risma said she is proud of the security officers who remain on duty to ensure the safety of people on holidays or doing church activities.
According to Risma, the Command Center's task is not only focused on preventing crime. It also stands-by for possibilities of potential fire and extreme weather.
"They are also in charge of maintaining the harmony among the public. Therefore, officers must cooperate with the community," she said.
The mayor also said that reports must be responded quickly and not ignored. So far, the celebration of Christmas in Surabaya is going smoothly and safely.
