TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) stated that renovation to Cempaka Putih Sports Hall (GOR) in Central Jakarta has begun.
"Renovation to Cempaka Putih Sports Hall has begun since the beginning of this week, on Monday," Jakarta Dispora head Ratiyono said in Jakarta on Friday, Oct. 27.
Cempaka Putih Sports Hall, he continued, is one of the ten sports halls that require immediate renovation to support the upcoming 2018 Asian Games. He added that the remaining halls will also be renovated any time soon.

Prior to the renovation, he revealed that the ten sports halls underwent a survey. However, Cempaka Putih Sports Hall is deemed ready to undergo renovation compared to the other halls.
"The renovation of the ten sports hall is funded from the compensation of increase from floor area ratio (KLB) of a private company," Ratiyono said.
In addition to revamping 10 sports halls, he explained, building baseball court and BMX bike racing arena also require immediate attention.
"Everything is funded from the KLB compensation with the total budget of Rp 60 billion," Ratiyono said.
