Jokowi Opens IBD Expo 2017, Talks about Digital Development

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo alias Jokowi has opened the Indonesia Business and Development Expo (IBD Expo) 2017 that is held on September 20-23 at Balai Sidang, Jakarta.
In his opening address, Jokowi mentioned the shift in consumption patterns that have had an impact on production patterns in the digital economy era.
“Be careful. There will be changes not only in consumption patterns but also patterns of work; they will all change and production patterns will also change,” the President said.
He said that Indonesian companies ought to take notice of consumption and production patterns and react accordingly.
President Jokowi said that more people are using social media to immortalize a moment. Moreover, digital networks have the potential to develop further the patterns of consumption, production and distribution.
“Imagine the change, the shift. We have to understand that there is a transition from offline to online,” Jokowi added.
