TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Lombok will host Senggigi Sunset Jazz 2017 on September 22-23. The event will feature a wide range of Jazz sub-genres performed by local and international musicians.
West Lombok Regent Fauzan Khalid explained that the name Senggigi Sunset Jazz 2017 has been chosen because it represents the harmony between nature, human and music. “The three elements have an inseparable relation; they are a symbol of harmony in life,” he said in a press release received by Tempo on September 11.
The event will be held in the coastal area of Kila Hotel in Senggigi. As in the previous editions, the event will feature Indonesia’s jazz musicians, including Tohpati Bertiga, Indro Hardjodikoro, Syaharani & Queenfireworks, Yura Yunita, Tesla Manaf, Bonita and the Hus Band, Fusion Stuff, Ricad Hutapea and DUADRUM.
Moreover, there will also be performances from world jazz musicians, such as LINE (Japan), Norma Jean (USA) and Cellomano (Venezuela). Local musicians Toni Moersaid Keroncing and Ethnic Sasak will also enliven the event.
Senggigi Sunset Jazz 2017 is organized by West Lombok administration in collaboration with ArchiSS and Jazz & World Music Festival. The event will be free of charge and open to the public.
