TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State airport operator Angkasa Pura II (AP2) is spending up to Rp100 billion for the construction of an Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC). The funds will be used to construct buildings and technology infrastructure, company official said.
APR2 technical and operating director Djoko Murdjatmojo saidn in Tangerang, Monday that the AOCC is located in a building at the office area of Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The building will be renovated to adjust with the control center's requirements.
The construction of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport AOCC is a collaboration between Angkasa Pura II and various stakeholders at the airport.

The AOCC will monitor all airport operations. The building is equipped with security cameras and an air traffic controller room involving Customs, police, Airport Authority, Airnav, Immigration Office, Quarantine Office, and airlines. The AOCC will operate in January 2018.
Angkasa Pura II president director Muhammad Awaluddin said the AOCC is one of the company's efforts to implement the airport's soft infrastructure. "The soft infrastructure development will balance out the hard infrastructure construction such terminals, apron, and other facilities we have completed," he said.
