Pekalongan Mayor Achmad Alf Arslan Djunaid Passes Away

  • TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pekalongan mayor Achmad Alf Arslan Djunaid or Alex passed away on Thursday, September 7, Pekalongan Communications and Information Agency head Sri Budi told Tempo.

    A day before, Alex conducted an official visit to Makassar, South Sulawesi. He was allegedly exhausted at fell in his room. Alex was then rushed to the hospital at 1 pm.

    Alex passed away at Pekalongan Bedan General Hospital at around 3:30 pm. Pekalongan Bedan General Hospital internist Kukuh Subekti revealed that he could suffer coronary heart disease or a stroke.

    “A sudden death is possibly caused by one of the two conditions,” Kukuh said.

    Kukuh explained that exhaustion might not be the cause of the death.

    Thousands of people came to the mortuary to express their condolences. Achmad Alf Arslan Djunaid will be buried on Friday at Djunaid Islamic School owned by Alex’s family.
