TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government has yet to shut down social media accounts owned by hate speech syndicate Saracen.
Communication and Informatics Minister Rudiantara said that his office is still waiting on the completion of Police’s investigation before shutting down their numerous online accounts. He viewed that closing down the Saracen's accounts would hamper police’s investigation.

Rudiantara stated that the ministry would immediately shut down Saracen’s cyber footprints completely after police have signaled the ministry to do so. “It won’t take long if the police later instruct us to close it, we would shut it down entirely,” said the minister.
The ministry is continuously coordinating its efforts with Indonesian authorities to reveal the intellectual mastermind that funded Saracen’s operations, which as a syndicate, has operated systemically.
In some cases, the Saracen syndicate has even notoriously hacked other people’s social media accounts to spread hate-speech contents in the form of false news and provocative memes.
