Jusuf Kalla Says Cyber Association Must Prevent Hoax News

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Jusuf Kalla reminded the Indonesian Cyber Media Association (AMSI) to take the role of presenting factual information that is far from hoax news.
“We receive information from you, but [that information] must be objective and neutral and factual,” said Jusuf Kalla on Tuesday, August 22.

Kalla emphasized the importance of factual news which is essential in presenting a positive contribution to society, unlike fake news contents that will potentially spark conflicts within society.
He also reminded that media have the potential to provide information and form public opinion, which must be accompanied by providing truthful information that is factual and has beneficial for the public.
Jusuf Kalla hopes that the cyber association can spread peaceful messages for the people.
