Indonesia is Asia's Biggest Instagram Market with 45mn Users  

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Instagram just revealed its internal data about users in Indonesia. With no less than 45 million users, Indonesia is the social media's biggest market in the Asia Pacific region.

"In Instagram, there are various and interconnected communities, including Instameet Jakarta, which is one of the largest in the world," Instagram Country Director - Facebook Indonesia Sri Widowati said during a presentation in Kuningan, South Jakarta, Wednesday.

Indonesia is also one of Instagram's biggest markets in the world. To date, Instagram has more than 700 million active users every month, a far leap from the 22 million active users recorded at the start of 2016.

Instagram users in Indonesia seem to be productive in creating contents. Indonesia is the world's largest producer of Instagram Story, with the number of contents created twice as much compared to the global average.

Instagram's product marketing director Susan Rose sees this as an opportunity for brands to get closer to their customers. "Business adoption through Instagram in Indonesia is among the top five in the world," she said.
