Reduce Back Pain with Garlic

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Experiencing back pain? The natural ingredients of garlic can help reduce back pain. Back pain is not only experienced by adults, a multitude of teenagers and children can experience the pain as well. Sitting and working for long hours non-stop and lack of exercise are the main causes of back pain.

The intensity of the pain may vary from only slight pain to severe. If one takes painkillers every time they experience back pain, this can cause certain side effects. Instead of taking pain killers, one should try natural remedies that are safe for the body.

Garlic is full of antioxidants; rich in vitamins, calcium, and minerals. Garlic can be used to treat a number of other pains, not only back pains.

Below is a number of natural treatments which use garlic, adapted from the Boldsky page:

1. Garlic and Mustard Oil

Mash 10 cloves of garlic with 5 tablespoons of mustard oil.

Heat the mixture on low heat until the color turns brown.

Take this mixture and massage it on the area that is sore.

Leave the mixture on for a few hours then take a warm bath.

Repeat this method once a day for the best results.

2. Garlic and Turmeric

Take a few garlic cloves and crush them.

Mix it along with freshly crushed turmeric root.

Have this along with a glass of water.

If you are not comfortable with the taste, you can add a little bit of honey.

Have this at least twice a day till the symptoms subside.

3. Garlic and Ginger

Take about 10 fresh garlic cloves and a small piece of ginger.

Grind it to a paste.

Apply this on the affected area and cover it using a clean soft cloth.

Leave this for half an hour and then rinse it off with lukewarm water.

Do this once a day till the symptoms subside.

 

4. Garlic and Eucalyptus Oil

Take about 10 fresh garlic cloves and crush them.

Add about 2-3 tablespoons of eucalyptus oil to the crushed garlic and mix.

Take this oil and massage the sore area using this oil.

Leave it for a few hours and take a warm bath.

Repeat this method once a day for the best results.
