TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Golkar Party faction leaders and members in the House of Representatives (DPR) have convened a meeting over the suspect status of DPR Speaker Setya Novanto in the electronic identity card (e-KTP) graft case. The meeting was led by Golkar secretary general Idrus Marham and central executive board (DPP) chairman Nurdin Halid.
“The main thing is the party and faction programs should not be disrupted,” Nurdin said today regarding the meeting on Setya Novanto suspect status in Jakarta.

Nurdin said that the meeting discussed the central executive board’s explanation about Golkar’s recent situation and condition. The board will also be providing instruction on the political agendas of the DPR.
He added that Golkar Party remains solid. He denied that the case had caused a rift among the party members. “No. Last night, I and the secretary general led an internal meeting. We have prepared steps, including legal steps,” he said.
