Jokowi Arrives in Turkey

    TEMPO.CO, Ankara - President Joko Widodo alias Jokowi arrived in Turkey yesterday at 7:30 pm local time.

    Jokowi was welcomed by Indonesian Ambassador to Turkey Wardana, Defense Attache Navy Colonel Yusliandi Ginting and Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister Nurettin Canikli.

    The President is slated to attend eight events on his working visit to Turkey.

    Turkish President Erdogan will receive President Jokowi with an official state welcome ceremony at the White Palace.

    Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said that Jokowi will first visit Ataturk Museum and Kocetepe Mosque before attending the welcome ceremony.

    “The official event will start with a welcome ceremony held by Turkey’s President before a tete-a-tete or four-eyed meeting is held followed by a bilateral meeting on broader issues,” Retno Marsudi said.
